August – Sheridan Kennedy in conversation

Sheridan Kennedy discusses the work in her current exhibition ‘O’Tremblant’ at 1:30pm on Friday 31st August.

Sheridan Kennedy has been a contemporary jeweller since 1985, and has become well known for creating highly original works. She explores widely varied approaches to making jewellery – from creating one-off artworks for exhibitions to collaborating with leading fashion designers such as Michelle Jank and Akira Isogawa and has designed pieces under licence for Autore.

Having grown up on a sheep and cattle station outside the remote town of Winton, Queensland, Kennedy developed a fascination for the way machinery works. Tractor motors, generators and old equipment lying about the property became sources of inspiration, and mechanics and interactivity remain key features of her work today.
